P is for Pinkboots!

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

REMEMBER : Two(or one depending on where you live) days left for your second baby guess.  Carefully read comments, and be specific on the month or I'll assign one to you.
Now onto our regularly unscheduled blogging.

Edamame, as you can see has chosen some pink boots to accessorize with for post-church outings.  He wanted to buy them all by himself.

The more pressing matter of present is his preference for the letter P.  Aunt Pam and Grandpa P will be most pleased to perceive that our Pre-schooler can now recognize the premier letter of their name.  Wow, I'm pooped!

It's the only letter he recognizes, and he picked it off the fridge(we have that leap frog game where you press it and it sings a song).  I may be an English teacher, but I'm more of an unschooling kind of parent, so he's done this all on his own.  Once he realized that he could recognize it he's become obsessed with letters.  The next one he asked me about was 'L'(go Grandma!), and we've been reading one of our ABC books non-stop since, including first thing this morning, BEFORE breakfast.  He's even asking what letters as he does our ABC puzzle.

...remember, I'm an English teacher, that's why I have this stuff lying around.

Tyler is learning to rhyme- he is getting good, he makes up words all the time- last night he was sucking on a straw and started to tell me words that rhyme with suck- .... hmmmm *#&% rhymes with suck and I was laughing so hard he kept saying it- how should I deal with that english teacher???

At least they'll be in touch with their feminine sides, right?

As for words that rhyme with suck...you know how to deal with it! Don't laugh, if he keeps doing it, explain that it's a bad bad bad word. Most kids here don't know those words. I got stuff like that(and some other crazier stuff) from my adult students. Talk about turning beet red sometimes.

If you're just bugging me about it then =P
